EXE/SSR Crossover Revealed
Posted by SilentJi on June 21st, 2009.

Uh huh, that's right, EXE is back... But there's a catch!

Capcom finally unveiled their new addition to the Rockman line at the World Hobby Fair - Rockman EXE: Operation Shooting Star. It's not just a EXE game, but a Shooting Star crossover, as well, going a step further than the little side quests we got in early SSR games. Information is scarce at the moment, outside of rumor and banter, but it's confirmed to be a NDS title slated for 2009 release. More information to come in the September issue of CoroCoro.

MegaMan Star Force 3 Press Release! - Text + English Logos
Posted by LordHuffnPuff on January 22nd, 2009.

The official Press Release for "MegaMan Star Force 3" has been... released!

QUOTE (Press Release)
THE BATTLE FOR THE DIGITAL WORLD CONTINUES IN MEGA MAN STAR FORCETM 3 FOR NINTENDO DSTM

Black Ace and Red Joker Double the Possibilities

Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that Mega Man Star Force™ 3 (MMSF3) for Nintendo DS™ will be coming to North America in early summer 2009. MMSF3 will come in two different versions, Black Ace and Red Joker, allowing two friends to share unique items and powers utilizing the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, enhancing their individual characters.

As in the previous games, MMSF3 is a unique blend of action and role-playing game (RPG), combining the high intensity combat that is the hallmark of Mega Man® games with Star Force’s strategic battle system. By defeating enemies and boss characters, players earn “battle cards” that enhance and evolve Mega Man’s abilities and attacks.

New to MMSF3 are “Noise Changes,” random enhancements that change Mega Man’s form and unlock new abilities. The two versions of the game, Black Ace and Red Joker, each have over 100 unique Noise Types that can be combined with Mega Man to unlock elemental powers based on earth, air, water and fire. The new Noise feature will add an exciting randomness to battles, encouraging players to explore, collect and battle across the digital world of MMSF3.

In MMSF3, players will travel between the physical world and the digital world via electromagnetic waves that form “wave roads.” Geo Stelar, the protagonist of the game, can see these wave roads through usage of his unique “visualiser” tool. Once in the digital world, Geo can merge with the electronic life-form known as Omega-Xis to become Mega Man. The wave roads are being overrun by mysterious “noise” that change the player’s environment and powers in different ways. This noise is being generated by an approaching gigantic meteor that threatens both the physical and digital worlds of MMSF3, forcing Geo Stellar and his crew to fight the oncoming threat to save two worlds. Fortunately, Mega Man discovers that he can control the Noise, using the new “Noise Change” system to transform into many different forms, including the ultimate “Black Ace” or “Red Joker” forms.

CoroCoro 12 & New Manga
Posted by Drk-X on November 17th, 2008.

*Images later tonight*

This month's CoroCoro came with a small booklet for all related to Shooting Star Rockman 3 instead of the traditional bound pages. The first thing when opening the booklet is an advertisement for the Noise Kaizou Gear as well as a special punch out for the card Noised-A36: Mu Cube Noise. The card is designated as the Ace of Clubs in the Progress Stage set and is a Noised Card that will change Rockman's charged shot to Mu Technology.

The next few pages offer tips on how to get through the beginning of the game, such as how Noise Changes, Merge Noises, and Finalize work as well as how to survive in battle with use of support cards, the buster, and the shield. Most of this is simply a review of what was given out in the past issues of CoroCoro.

There are a few pages that will explain certain points in the first few chapters of the game. They include chunks of the first scenario, your meeting with Shidou, your first encounter with Noised Wizards, a map of the second area of the Rocket Network, Spade Magnets, Big Wave's reopening, Ox Fire, getting to use Ox as your support Wizard, a map of the third area of the Special Stage, Ice and Dia Iceburn, an introduction to Jack and Corvus, a map of the third area of the Environmental System, Strong and Club Strong, and a short bio on the No.2 Dealer, Grave Joker.

Afterward, there is another advertisement for Noise Kaizou Gear, which includes a mention of Noise Hands, special configurations of five Noise Cards that will award bonuses.

Next is the first chapter of the Shooting Star Rockman 3 manga. Inside the chapter, there is a cut out card for the White Card White-A08: Heavy Cannon/Drill Arm 2/Heat Upper 2/Heavy Dawn 1. Here is a summary of the chapter:

The chapter begins with Acid Ace seemingly beaten by what appears to be Rockman Red Joker as Meteor Grave looms in the distance. The scene suddenly changes and Shidou is seen playing a clip of what would happen if the Meteor were to crash into the Earth. Meanwhile, at Kodama Elementary, Subaru is seen being dragged around by Luna and Kizamaro as they demand he assist Gonta and Ox, who attempt to combat an army of Mettrio in the school hallway. Ox and all the Wizards are having trouble, but War Rock saves the day with his Beast Swing attack. All the other Wizards, including Ox, now feel insufficient. However, Luna is upset that Subaru did not become Rockman, who she was wanting to see.

Later on, a cheerful Magnets is seen giving a lecture to students about an experimental Rocket when Queentia and Jack appear in the shadows. With a simple toss of the Spade card, Magnets is turned into Spade Magnets, who immediately uses his Gravity Rocket attack to fire small missiles everywhere. Rockman gets into action and defends against the missiles using a sword. Spade Magnets then attacks with Magnet Blade, but Rockman counters with Drill Arm. Spade Magnets tries to use Axis Jet but Rockman fires off Heavy Cannon and follows up with Heat Upper. However, contact with Spade Magnets has caused Rockman to feel the effects of Noise waves and he collapses.

Suddenly, an army of Noised Wizards appear. They move in to attack when suddenly a chunk of them are taken out! It's Acid and Shidou! And they become Acid Ace. With a single shot from the Acid Blaster, the Noised Wizards are gone! However, Spade Magnets sneaks up on Rockman and he turns his left arm into a claw, pinning Rockman down with it as Rockman's Noise Level continues to rise. Acid Ace gauges Rockman's Noise level until it hits 100%. A Noise Change occurs! Rockman Cygnus Noise appears and uses his newfound strength to obliterate Spade Magnets with Meteorite Barrage. Luna finds the new Rockman attractive, but before the good guys get a chance to rest, Jack Corvus enters the fray...

Images will be up later tonight!

Program Advances + Rezon Cards
Posted by Drk-X on October 31st, 2008.

As we told you in a previous report, Nigoli was able to obtain a copy of the SSR3 demo through the Nintendo Channel and the demo includes a card tutorial, Lock-on tutorial, Support-Use tutorial, a practice battle, and a match against Spade Magnets. CoroCoro told us that Program Advances will be returning in Shooting Star Rockman 3. Prepare to be a bit disappointed. In this game, a program advance will take three cards and merely form them into a stronger card that you can only otherwise obtain from the Meteor Server Folder as either Black Ace or Red Joker. The demo's folder gives you access to the following three advances:

Cannon + Cannon + Cannon = Impact Cannon

Sword + Wide Sword + Long Sword = Giant Axe

Mini Grenade + Mini Grenade + Mini Grenade = Big Grenade

Something worth noting again is that cards that appear in the background, i.e. the ones that can either have normal function through Single Use or become either Area Eater, Attack+10, Invisible, Mahi Plus, or Kusamura Stage through Support Use depending on their element, cannot be selected by the D-Pad on the custom screen and MUST be touched. For those who have used only the D-Pad in the previous two games, you might want to start getting used to using touch for the custom screen.

Also, a page on the official site has updated. We finally have a complete look at how all the Noise Modification Gear works. As mentioned before, the Progress Stage set will come with 69 cards and they'll come in varying rarities: Normal, Rare, Super Rare.

As stated before, Noised Cards come in five suits: Spade, Heart, Club, Diamond, Shooting Star Joker. They can also come with numbers. It seems the amount of Noised Cards you can use will depend on the suits and numbers. Noised Cards primarily affect Normal Rockman or his Noise Changes.

With White Cards, using a card will change your four equipped "White Cards", essentially the Favorites of this game. As mentioned before, they are considered to be the same as Favorites in the last two games in every way except for the fact that rather than freely choosing any set of cards in your folder to be turned into White Cards, they have to be selected as a set of four and are attached to the end of your folder. They can either be downloaded from Wave Stations or downloaded to your game through the Noise Modification Gear.

The real new information is the Rezon Cards. You only download one and it's the only one you get. The name of the card is displayed on your profile. However, there are other ways to get more upgrades. As we know, Brother Band has been replaced by the Team System. On the customize screen in the game, you will see a table display for Rezon Cards, with the members of your team, including yourself, displayed on the left and all your upgrades displayed on the right. On the bottom left screenshot in the image above, you can see a shot of what a team customize page looks like with no other team members. The player has only the "Ultimate Wood Master" card equipped and only gets Wood Star +3 and First Kusamura Panel equipped. However, with two other members on his team, as seen with the bottom right screenshot, the player gets access to another "Ultimate Wood Master" card, granting him a total of Wood Star +6 and he has access to another card that grants him "FM Vulcan" as a charged shot and Normal Star +3. In other words, you get access to the Rezon Cards of all members of your team.

Also worth noting is that the profile page no longer seems to display an entry for Best Combo names, meaning it is likely that the Best Combo system and Legend Force system may have been discarded. The profile system now consists of a mugshot (we don't know if Custom mugs will return. Possibly not as mugs now display your equipped Noise Change for Brother Cards), your character's name, your Kizuna Ryoku, a comment, your equipped White Cards, your team icon, team name, and Rezon Card.

Characters and More for SSR3
Posted by Drk-X on October 29th, 2008.

There have been various updates going on today for Shooting Star Rockman 3. First, let's take a look at the official site's Wave Station. We're given a new wallpaper and MAN is it nice. For one thing, Capcom has FINALLY confirmed the spelling for our favorite rival, Burai. And it looks like he comes with a new sword in this game too!

For those of you who guessed that Burai would be granted Trans-Code No.002 by the Satella Police, give yourselves a big pat on the back. You are all correct.

There's also an update in the System section. The update pertains to the WiFi system. As we know, WiFi can be used to communicate with other players and you can use their Brother Cards if they are a member of your Brother Band (seemingly referred to as "Teams" in this game). Alternately, if you defeat a random opponent on WiFi, you can also receive Rival Noise cards. Like Brother Cards, they will either roulette through the other player's four white cards or it will merge their equipped Noise Change with yours. When connected to WiFi, you can either choose to battle against members of your own team, opponents whose Friend Codes you have registered, or random players.

What's nice about the Random Battle system is that you can choose to filter your results. This will allow you to select opponents who don't use Noise Modification Gear. You'll also get to see your opponent's records and his mugshot will display as the Noise Change he currently has equipped. Outside of battle, you can even hold a voice chat with your opponent.

Something to note that is mentioned in this article is the Noise Level. As we know, in Wave Battles (bosses or PvP), it will increase by half the amount of damage dealt using a non-elemental, non-time-freezing card. However, if the card is used through War Rock Attack, half the amount of damage will be added to the Noise Level no matter what the element is. This is especially great if you'd want to make the most out of dealing double-elemental damage through your opponent's weakness.

The Satellite Server has updated the main room with an entry for Code No.002 - Burai. However, like Acid Ace, the entry cannot be accessed as of yet. Meanwhile, the keitai/mobile phone site has updated with a whole lot of new mini-wallpapers and thanks to Repliroid20XX, we have them available!

Here we have the Greeting Wizards on the Satellite Server. There's Clark and his sometimes-substitute, Gardner.

Of course, we all know the Denpa-kun. Isn't he cute despite his utter similarity to the design of a Chao from Sonic the Hedgehog Adventure?

Here are Pedia and Mode, the new Wizards for Kizamaro and Luna respectively. Pedia looks and sounds to be a resourceful Wizard with a large knowledge base whereas Mode looks rather...useless. Neither of them look fit to be Battle Wizards, but each of them probably have a special use in the game.

Here are the rest of the team of Operators and Wizards. It's nice to finally get some different artwork of Laplace. If only Capcom would reveal more about his origin as well as Burai's role in this game. Also, I wonder when we'll be getting more Misora/Harp Note?

Also, both Dengeki Online and 4Gamer have updated with new articles. Both of them cover the same thing so let's just stick with 4Gamer's article, which has a bit more new stuff that Dengeki doesn't.

The articles mainly deal with the WiFi system that was explained on the Wave Station. However, they also show what happens when one Finalizes. Their custom screen will be cleaned, as in the cards will be swept off and replaced by special cards from the Meteor Server.

Also, some interesting things can be noted in a lot of the screenshots on the page. The image on the left features Red Joker wiping viruses out with the Great Ax battle card. However, a large card is shown on the custom screen. Is that one of the members of Dealer as well as a boss in the game? Perhaps he's that large black man that was seen by Queentia and Jack in an earlier news report? The image on the right features Black Ace using a new battle card, Sword Fighter 3 and the custom screen seems to depict another boss. There's a possibility that this may be the Diamond based boss of the game seeing as the character features a diamond on their chest similar to the Spade on Spade Magnet's head as well as the club on the unknown wood-type moss boss. The boss may be of the aqua-element due to what appears to be snowflakes in the card art.

In the image on the left, Red Joker faces off against Black Ace. This image confirms the return of the Break Sabre battle card. It also confirms that other Noise Force Big-Bangs besides the Finalized Noise Change's own (in this case, Red Gaia Eraser) will exist and may be selectable from the Meteor Server folder. Also, the custom screen confirms the return of Auriga General, at least in battle card form. In the other image, you can see the player getting knocked out of Color Out due to being struck by a sword as Cygnus Noise. In the custom screen, you can see what the new Brother Card looks like. It will display the brother's name as well as their equipped Noise Change's mugshot and name, in this case, Libra.

More Official Site Updates as Release Draws Near
Posted by Drk-X on October 25th, 2008.

Once again, the Official Site has updated, providing us with mostly information given in this month's CoroCoro 11. Let's go over everything anyway.

On the Wave Station, we have various updates. Among these is another new wallpaper. This time, it features Solo, who partners with a new Wizard, Laplace, in order to become the Solitude Fighter, Burai.

The Characters section now includes a section for the Dealer organization, with profiles for Mr. King, Queentia, and Jack as well as Queentia and Jack's respective Wizards, the FM Seijin Virgo and Corvus. Their information has already been revealed in the CoroCoro report. However, the reports come with better images of each character. Something to note is that their profiles refer to the humans as "Dealers" rather than "Operators" like with Subaru/Gonta/Shidou/Solo's profiles.

It seems that there is a history between War-Rock and Corvus. If you observe, you can notice that they also have similar designs. It seems Corvus is aligned with evil and did not need to be corrupted by means of the Illegal Cards used on Magnets.

Not much information is given about Queentia's partner, Virgo. Virgo also seems to be genuinely aligned with evil and did not need to be corrupted by Noise.

Other than being the founder of the King Foundation as well as the boss of the Dealer Organization, we do not know much about Mr. King or his exact relation to Queentia and Jack. He doesn't seem to have a known Wizard as of now.

In the Denpa Ningen/Wave Human section, we have new profiles up for Queen Virgo and Jack Corvus. Included are clearer screenshots of the two in battle. Queen Virgo seems to pack 1200 HP on the first encounter while Jack Corvus packs 1400 HP.

As we know, Jack Corvus is a fierce fighter, making use of his high-speed wings and his burning claws. He is a fire-type enemy and is weak against aqua-element attacks.

Contrasting against her brother, Queentia's merged form, Queen Virgo, is a dynamic defensive fighter, making use of water barriers and attacking with a large dragon if water and ice. Described in CoroCoro as the queen of ice, Queen Virgo is aqua-element and takes double damage from electricity.

A new page in the system section finally explains how the White Card system will work in detail. It is quite different from what we have been thinking so far and it also answers the question of whether the Favorites system has truly been abolished or not.

White cards do not necessarily require the actual Noise Modification Gear to be used. The in-game Wave Stations have been mentioned in earlier news reports and perform multiple functions, such as providing information as well as allowing Rockman to move to Wave Roads from the physical world when he's transformed. As Subaru, they can be accessed and used to download White Cards to your profile. These four cards are determined by the specific Wave Station you went to. In the given example, the first Wave Station terminal in the game will give you Long Sword, Recovery 30, Mad Vulcan 1, and Divide Line.

These White Cards essentially replace your Favorites, meaning that you can no longer freely choose which four cards in your folder are white cards like in the previous two games. Instead, white cards are attached to the end of your folder, not counting towards your standard limit, but they'll still act like Favorites, meaning they'll be wildcards for selection on the custom screen during battle and they will appear in the roulette when a brother uses your Brother Force or Rival Noise card. To control what four White Cards are installed to your profile, you either have to choose a specific wave station, or you can use Noise Modification Gear to change your profile with ease. If you use either the High-Speed Blace Ace or Powered Red Joker promotional white cards, you may have an advantage due to the cards installing a white-card Noise Force Big-Bang (Meteorite Barrage/Atomic Blazer) to your folders.

Speaking of promotional White cards for Noise Modofication Gear, on certain days, stores in Japan will be giving out a special card with purchase of Shooting Star Rockman 3. The card, Fourth Element, will install a card of each element to your profile. This includes Heat Upper 2 (Fire), Shark Cutter 2 (Aqua), Flash Spear 2 (Elec), and Shuri Shuriken 2 (Wood).

The promotional event will also include Holographic Stickers. The sticker set you receive will depend on which version of the game your purchase. You will also receive an Angou Mail code.

Also, there's an advertisement in the Information Section regarding the Complete Scenario Strategy Guide. It will release on the same day as the game, November 13th, and it will come with a Noised Card, Gemini Spark Noise.

Also, in the Movie section, the video featured at the Tokyou Game Show 2008 has been added. If you haven't already seen it, go take a look now.

Elsewhere, Dengeki Online has posted an article concerning Merge Noises and how the Merge Out system works, but it's nothing we don't already know and there are no new images.

One last thing: According to Nintendo's site, Shooting Star Rockman will be available for demo either through the DL Service at DS Download stations in Japan or the Touch!Try demo cartridges for this month. The demos will be available on the 30th of October. Like with the previous game, the demo will be split into three tutorials. Instead of Legend Master Shin giving the lesson, Akatsuki Shidou will be teaching you the basics of battle, followed by use of Noise Change, with Ox Noise being shown as the example for Red Joker's demo. As you get to the third lesson, your session will be crashed by Spade Magnets (just like how Phantom Black crashes the previous game's tutorial) and it'll be boss-fighting time.

Notice: Shoutbox Messaging
Posted by mcFabulouse27 on November 13th, 2008.

Due to the recent release of Ryusei no Rockman 3 in Japan, TUS would like to issue a notice that we're reinstating the same rules in the Shoutbox we've had upon each release prior - namely, no brother band requests.

If you need to find or share friend codes, please use the Brother Band Classifieds section of our boards or do so over Private Messaging. Avoid "ready!" messages, useless spam pertaining to brother banding and linking, and the like.

If you have any questions, please check the RnR3 section first before posting in the shoutbox. You'll be saving yourself, and others, a great deal of time. Remember to use the search function at the bottom of the boards to quickly sort through messages.

In addition, a reminder; do not spam, do not troll, and ROM links are strictly prohibited.

New Rule for Politiks
Posted by Nuriko DS on November 7th, 2008.

Hakun brought to my attention a few minutes ago a new user censor-bypassing with their username. The username is "****obama".

The reason I'm making this announcement is that we here at TUS want to express that we do not tolerate any action of this nature. Now, in this case, it's a bot, but there are plenty of you out there that aren't. Regardless of our personal stances on politics, etc., we will be intolerant about this for any such case. That means, in this specific example, that we wouldn't tolerate "****mccain", "****palin", "****biden", etc. Disliking candidates is one thing. Explaining why approve of somebody is one thing. Blatant attempts to rile up anger among people is completely another thing. Spreading hateful words about ANYBODY is another thing. It will get you warnings, regardless of which side you choose.

While the internet is a free entity for everybody, this is TUS's stance on the subject. All users found doing anything will receive a 3-day suspension and a 20% warning for the first offense. This is to let you know that we're serious. And we'll do this not only for US officials, but officials around the world that affect our members.

We will not retro-actively apply this, but should we see this in the future, we will act immediately. Consider this your first warning.

Happy Birthday, TUS~
