Walkthrough:
Chapter I : Arrival!! They Came From the FM Planet!!
A long opening scene starts off this game, and introduces Subaru, his mother, and his father's kouhai, Amachi. The end result is that Subaru gets his father's Visualizer, a special pair of glasses that allow Subaru to see radio waves, and heads off to his favorite stargazing spot. Once you gain control of Subaru, you can chat up the locals for information on the world around you, or just head to the far right corner past the school to advance. Subaru's class rep, Luna, and her two underlings Gonta and Kizamaro show up and all but threaten Subaru to get him to come to school. After a disinterested bout of apathy, Subaru walks off, and Luna's group returns to the school. Immediately afterward, Luna sends Subaru an email with an extensive program explaining the Brother Band System. After setting up your name, self-introduction, and secret, you are free to continue.

Subaru hangs out until nightfall, when his Transer starts going crazy... it's detecting his father's access signal!! However, Subaru is instead hit with the FM alien, War Rock, or Rock for short. Basically, War Rock is an alien from the FM Planet, and knows Subaru's name because he knows Subaru's father. However, Rock isn't the only thing to come from FM Planet - Denpa Viruses have infested the Dennou World of an old derelict train, and they'll cause havoc in the city if not stopped. War Rock instructs Subaru to use the Visualizer to find a Wave Hole - a point at which one can enter the Wave Roads. Go up to the Wave Hole and press R to go On Air, arriving on the Wave Road. However, War Rock cannot battle on Earth on his own, and must borrow Subaru's body - thus they combine, forming Rockman! Subaru is not pleased with this surprising turn of events, but doesn't have much choice if the viruses are to be stopped. Follow the path (Rock will tell you when you're going the wrong way) until you get close to the train, at which point Rock tells you to "touch" the train (with your stylus, etc.) to enter it's Dennou World. Once inside, you will quickly find yourself faced against a group of Metool, and the familiar format of training begins.

The first battle will introduce the basics of selecting and using Battlecards - cards in a column can be selected at the same time, or cards with the same name can be selected. In other words, if you have a Sword and a Cannon one on top of the other, you can pick both of those. Alternatively, if you have a Sword in the left column and one in the right one, you can select both of those. The second battle teaches the concept of White cards, which function much like the * codes of the EXE series - regardless of position and name, they can always be selected with any other cards. The immediate lesson is to use Attack +10 with the multhitting AirSpread to double the card's damage. Also explained here is the "War Rock Attack", a lock-on ability that allows Swords or other weapons requiring precise aim to be used properly, since Subaru cannot approach or fall back from the enemies. The last battle explains Counter and Bonus Card - basically, by Countering an enemy, a random Battlecard will be pulled from your Folder, allowing you an extra attack while waiting for the Custom Meter.

The battle resolved, the crisis is averted, and War Rock ends up blackmailing asking Subaru to allow him to remain within Subaru's Transer, promising him information on his father in return. And so the new team is born!!
